strawberries

A strawberry merchant helps a lost boy find his way home, only to discover disturbing similarities between the boy’s father and her own.

Strawberries was created during my semester abroad at FAMU in Prague, it is a surrealist short film shot entirely on 16mm. I worked as the film’s Cinematographer, shaping the visual language from pre-production through post-production by developing storyboards, shot lists, and lighting setups, while also collaborating on production design to build the film’s off-putting, dreamlike world.

As fast as you can

As Fast As You Can is a direct-on-film animation project created by painting frame by frame on 16mm film. Using ink and hand-drawn marks applied directly onto the celluloid, I built a rhythmic, textural sequence that plays with movement, color, and abstraction. The final piece is set to music by Fiona Apple, bringing the painted visuals into a dynamic relationship with sound.

Among the trees

Among the Trees is a 16mm film shot on a Bolex in the North Woods at Skidmore College, the place on campus where I feel most at peace. Inspired by Mary Oliver’s poetry about nature, connection, and belonging, I brought my camera into the woods and filmed whatever surrounded me, light shifting through branches, small movements, quiet details. The project is a simple, observational study of a place that feels like home.

Fiber art

Fiber Art is an observational 16mm film made with another art major and shot in Skidmore’s fiber studio. Since we spend so much of our time in the art building, we chose to focus on a space that feels familiar and full of quiet detail. With the camera, we explored the textures, threads, and small gestures that shape the studio, creating a study of fabric, touch, and the subtle rhythms of making.
