Relief printmaking series; linoleum on paper

Created during my sophomore year at Skidmore College for Printmaking I, this piece was part of a small assignment introducing us to linoleum carving. We were asked to create a single-layer linoleum print while learning the basics of relief printmaking. I carved a simple image of a woman in the illustrative style I often return to. Even in this early exercise, I found the process deeply enjoyable, and it became the moment I fell in love with the language of relief printmaking.
