Woodcut on solvent-transfer collage

This print series combines a carved woodblock print with a solvent transfer to explore how imagery and process can carry memory. I created the background by photographing my grandmother’s inherited necklaces, arranging them into a collage, and transferring that image onto paper to form a textured foundation. On top of this surface, I carved and printed an image of a hand on the neck, using the physicality of woodcut and the permanence of carved marks to consider how material processes can reflect ideas of inheritance, memory, and age. Layering the woodcut over the transferred textures brought together carving, collage, and personal objects into a unified composition.
