Star person relief

2026
Plaster Casting; Acrylic Paint and Ink

This diptych explores the “star person” motif I developed during my junior year at Skidmore, a character that originated in my sketchbooks and expanded into painting and digital work. Translating this form into a three-dimensional medium, I carved the image into a clay block, filled the negative space with plaster, and sanded and painted the final surface. The piece examines how a personal visual language shifts across mediums, asking what is gained through this transformation and what, if anything, is lost.
