Relief printmaking; multi-layer woodcut on paper
My first woodcut series, created in Printmaking I at Skidmore. The objective was to portray a tranquil space, and I chose my boarding school’s chapel, a place that became an unexpected source of meditation and community. As I learned the medium, I returned to the blocks repeatedly, testing color combinations, gradient rolls, and layered impressions. The series reflects both my experimentation with process and the surprising solace I found in that chapel.
