Remake/Revise
Graphic design project, 2024
Paper, Photoshop, GIF animation
Created for my Communication Design class, this project focused on deconstructing and reconstructing the capital letter A through hands-on experimentation. I manipulated the letter using methods like burning holes, cutting small squares, crumpling, drawing, and scraping ink with acetone, then scanned my variations into Photoshop. From these studies, I selected two approaches (burned holes and cut-out squares) and expanded them into the letters needed to spell “MAKE.” I animated these forms to create a series of gifs. The project emphasized the malleability of letterforms and the role of physical process in shaping new typographic identities.
